Helios Eclipse Epilogue

I was walking around the mall to survey the price of an internal data card reader for my computer when I though I would just drop by the book store to see if there are any new interesting books. Several glance through the shelves and I was kind of convinced that it was the same as several days ago when I last checked so I was about to leave when I suddenly felt like using the electronic search kiosk to see if there are anything hidden that I might be interested in, oh whadaya know~

Helios Eclipse Epilogue, the final book in the looong running series and also my final connection with the local comics scene. It showed there was 40 stocks available on the screen but I can’t see any on the shelves. So I asked the customer service desk and they promptly went into the store room behind and got one out for me… It wasn’t even placed out yet lol! I haven’t looked it up online before leaving for the mall but a check a moment ago showed the official site haven’t even updated to show this new book too. Now I’m thinking maybe I got it before its planned release…

Well anyway, as for the contents, it ends the series pretty well. Several clues posed in the past are finally pulled together and explained; some I didn’t even remember until it was mentioned. But <spoilers ahead, highlight to read>I can’t help but feel that Soileh’s change of heart in the end feels kind of forced… I mean, he was bent on destroying all of existence from sheer vengence for the past 7 books. What’s Helios saving him once is going to make him turn a new leaf instantly? But other than that, the final climax was pretty cool. Also with how the story had been developing from the past volumes, it had been very likely that the series would have ended with a sad ending so the sudden plot twist in this one that resulted in a happy one was kind of interesting. I do like plot twists after all :P</spoiler> And now with this series over I have finally lost all my ties to the local comic scene… again… until Kaoru release another book that is, or if something else interesting catches my attention.

One after another, titles in my ever growing list of mangas that I was planning to import but never did thanks to the lack of funds are starting to get scanlated within this past one month alone. I don’t know if it was coincidence or what but this is at least good in a way that there are other people who are interested in those niche titles.

Now should I go down the evil path, or the light path? Though in the third-world that is where I am, the evil path is the general populous’ preference… not that I could say much in return when the reality is that one imported book costs the same as an entire day of expense if not more. And then I’ll come back to lamenting about the crappy currency value of this place. ugh…

Maybe I’ll get it along with my next orders in a month or two if I don’t find it anywhere else first. Also…

holy crap! Now what did I say about Helios Eclipse in English being a matter of time? It’s RM10:50 for one… the one I had was RM7.50 for one. That’s almost 50% increment! >_> But if you were to compare with all the other US import it’s still cheaper by almost if not over 66% so it’s still ok on a global point of view. Locally however… WTF.

P.S. don’t mind me if you don’t get what I said. I’m just a little high on boredom. Alternatively, here’s a super sad Kagamine Rin song to let you have some emotional feast.

Tokyopop taps onto Mirai Nikki!?

oh my god… now this is what I call a surprise.

…ok, now I shall go back to waiting for volume 8 and Mirai Nikki: Paradox.

wait, it was Valentines!?

I totally forgot about it lol

So instead of doing what most other people do during Valentines, me and my friends went down to KL and wasted the day there. I went there to get my mangas, check out the prices for some random computer peripherals as well as checking around for the availability of those Busou Shinki figures that I wanted.

Things sure are getting expensive... T__T

I then spent the rest of the night reading random scanlations after I got home. I’ll keep the new ones for tomorrow I guess…

oh, I also lent my Valkyria Chronicles to one of my friends and started MGS4 today.

Held up again lmao

I happened again! Another one of my manga orders got held up by the customs  LOL

Well, this time around I saw it coming though… pretty obvious how it would turn out by the looks of the cover but meh, no harm trying xD

Actually, if I were to mention even more in detail about the story of this manga it wouldn’t then seem to be too naughty… ok, maybe it would seem weirder in another sense… forget that I wrote this paragraph…

Aside from the fact that this is the only mindless moe manga that I ordered this time, I don’t really have much inclination to forcefully pursue the acquisition of it (unlike Himamori Himari vol 3 which I already had a whole series of volumes prior) so I don’t know if I would try to get it through means other than Kinokuniya KLCC. Kinokuniya Singapore doesn’t seem to have it either so I can’t ask my friend there to help neither… I don’t know, I guess I’ll see how I feel about it in the future.

Anyway, here are the other orders that have arrived:

2. Mirai Nikki: Mosaic
3. Touhou Bougetsushou vol2
4. Roman vol2

I guess that means I may be going to KLCC again soon. Just a matter of when; I have other plans for tomorrow so definitely not tomorrow, maybe Saturday… I don’t know but for now, I’m feeling quite lazy to move around, maybe I’ll try to look for someone to get them for me again… (¯▽¯

Last minute shopping

lol, did one entry after I got back and I’m lazy again.

Went to Sunway Pyramid today to get some new clothes for the CNY. While I was at it, I decided to look around for my marketing research as well as keep an eye out for Helios Eclipse Hexad, which I found by the way. I also got the final part of Le.Gardenie along with it.

About damn time...

I will be leaving for Ipoh again next Monday. No sure when I’ll be back this time, probably before Friday but who knows.
